- 1 lb ground beef (85/15 recommended)
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
- 1 package (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic until cooked, then drain grease.
- Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and spaghetti sauce. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Mix ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish.
- Add half the frozen ravioli in an even layer.
- Spread ricotta mixture over ravioli.
- Add half the remaining meat sauce.
- Add remaining ravioli in a layer.
- Top with remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil (sprayed) and bake 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Rest 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- Make ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
- Leftovers keep in the fridge for 3 days.
- Reheat covered in oven or microwave.
