  • 1.5 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • For the glaze
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • For toppings
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into even 1-inch chunks.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and optional red pepper flakes.
  3. Place chicken in crockpot and pour sauce over it. Stir to coat.
  4. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5–6 hours until tender.
  5. Remove chicken and transfer sauce to a saucepan.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water to form slurry, whisk into simmering sauce until thickened.
  7. Return chicken to sauce and coat well.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
