- 500 g ground beef (80/20)
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 8 slices American cheese or cheddar
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
- 16 pickle slices
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over high heat until very hot.
- Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions.
- Press each portion directly onto a tortilla, spreading it evenly to cover the surface.
- Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place the tortilla beef-side down onto the hot skillet and press firmly with a spatula.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until a crispy crust forms.
- Flip the taco and immediately place a slice of cheese on top of the beef.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the cheese melts and the tortilla is lightly toasted.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to make the sauce.
- Top tacos with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and burger sauce.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
- Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest smash burger tacos.
- A cast-iron skillet creates the best crispy crust.
- Add bacon, jalapeños, or extra cheese for additional flavor.
