- 1½ lbs jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly golden and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Add garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
- Simmer briefly until everything is heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve hot with rice, pasta, or crusty bread.
Notes
- Do not overcook the shrimp or they may become rubbery.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
- Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly into the sauce.
- A squeeze of lemon juice before serving adds brightness.
