- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Potato Layer
- 2 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- Creamy Sauce
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk or cream
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Topping
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ground beef with onion, salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
- Mix mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream until smooth.
- Spread beef mixture in a greased baking dish.
- Layer sliced potatoes evenly on top.
- Pour sauce over potatoes and spread evenly.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest before serving and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Slice potatoes thinly (about 1/8 inch) for even cooking.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
