Ingredients
- 450g lean ground beef
- 30g butter
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 230g brown mushrooms, minced
- 30g ketchup
- 240ml beef broth
- 225g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
- 6 brioche hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the lean ground beef in a hot pan. Once browned, remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and sauté diced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until browned.
- Mix beef broth, cornstarch, ketchup, salt, and pepper in a bowl; pour into sautéed veggies and simmer until thickened.
- Return the beef to the pan and mix well.
- Turn off heat and stir in provolone cheese until melted.
- Butter and toast brioche buns separately until golden.
- Fill toasted buns with the cheesy beef mixture and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated provolone for best melting and flavor.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth if desired.
