Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, plant-based meat)
  • 1 onion, chopped (yellow onion or shallots)
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (crimini or button)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 6 oz Swiss cheese (or cheddar, mozzarella)
  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 4 hamburger buns, cubed (gluten-free optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté ground beef in olive oil until browned, 5–7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper; set aside.
  3. Cook onions and mushrooms in the same skillet until softened, 5–7 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  4. Return beef to skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Simmer 5 minutes, then stir in sour cream.
  5. Place cubed buns in casserole dish. Pour beef mixture over evenly. Top with shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Bake 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with parsley before serving.
