- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, plant-based meat)
- 1 onion, chopped (yellow onion or shallots)
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (crimini or button)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth (or chicken broth)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 6 oz Swiss cheese (or cheddar, mozzarella)
- 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 4 hamburger buns, cubed (gluten-free optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté ground beef in olive oil until browned, 5–7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper; set aside.
- Cook onions and mushrooms in the same skillet until softened, 5–7 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Return beef to skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Simmer 5 minutes, then stir in sour cream.
- Place cubed buns in casserole dish. Pour beef mixture over evenly. Top with shredded Swiss cheese.
- Bake 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with parsley before serving.
