Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp white vinegar
  • Zest of 1/2 orange
  • 3 tbsp water, divided
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Combine rice wine, 2 tbsp water, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, white vinegar, and orange zest to make the sauce.
  2. Dissolve 1 tbsp cornstarch in remaining 1 tbsp water; set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan and cook ground chicken until crust forms. Break apart and cook 2–3 more minutes.
  4. Add ginger, garlic, and crushed red pepper; cook 10 seconds.
  5. Add orange sauce and bring to boil.
  6. Add cornstarch mixture and stir until sauce thickens.

Notes

  • Serve over rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Adjust sugar or vinegar to taste for a sweeter or tangier sauce.
