Streusel topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; gradually add to wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Mix streusel topping ingredients until crumbly.
  7. Scoop dough onto sheets, sprinkle streusel on top.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden, centers soft.
  9. Cool 5 minutes on sheets, then transfer to wire racks.
