Ingredients
Scale
- 2 generous cups bread (try a baguette or any good crusty bread), cut into croutons
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and position the rack in the middle. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
- Cut bread into croutons and add to the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt & pepper, then toss with hands until combined.
- Spread croutons in an even layer (clustered but not stacked) and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool for a few minutes before using or storing in an airtight container.
- Save any fallen cheese bits—they’re great for adding flavor to salads.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh garlic (2–3 minced cloves) if preferred.
- This recipe makes about 6 servings, enough for a large salad or a couple of smaller ones. Easily doubles if needed.
