Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 batch pie crust or store-bought pie shell
- 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (113.5 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup (144 g) chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 cup (180 g) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out pie dough slightly larger than the pie dish, transfer to pan, trim, fold, and crimp edges.
- Weigh down crust with pie weights or beans and bake for 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and melted butter.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla and salt.
- Fold in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Pour filling into partially baked crust.
- Bake 35–45 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly wobbly.
- Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Do not overbake—the center should remain slightly soft for the best texture.
- Use either walnuts or pecans depending on preference.
- Cooling fully helps the filling set properly before slicing.
