Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp low sodium tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp plain gluten free breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp fresh grated ginger (or 1/2 tsp dried)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low sodium tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2–3 tsp sriracha, to taste
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Marinate chicken cubes in tamari for 15 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F.
- Toss chicken with cornstarch and breadcrumbs.
- Cook in air fryer in a single layer for 10–14 minutes, tossing halfway; chicken is done at 165°F internal temperature.
- Meanwhile, sauté garlic in oil until lightly golden.
- Add remaining sauce ingredients except water and cornstarch; simmer.
- Mix cornstarch and water, then whisk into sauce; simmer until thick, then remove from heat to thicken further.
- Let chicken cool a few minutes, then toss with half (or 2/3) of the sauce; reserve remaining sauce for serving.
- Serve immediately with steamed broccoli, rice, or enjoy as is.
Notes
- If using full strength soy sauce, reduce to 2–3 tbsp to avoid overpowering flavor.
- Honey can be substituted with other sweeteners; adjust sweetness to taste.
